OPI Rapidry Top Coat and Spray Review

It`s OPI. It`s a fast dry top coat. It`s got my name all over it.

Actually I picked up a set of OPI`s RapiDry set from Winners, containing their RapiDry Spray as well as the top coat.

I had high expectations from this top coat, being OPI and all. A fast drying top coat is a must for me. I mean, once you start using them, you can pretty much never go back to regular polish application. You just can't.

This top coat has a decent consistency, not too thick nor too thin. I apply it usually after about a minute of polish application, when the nail is not wet but not dry either. First problem I encountered, was the fact when I do apply that first topcoat, it picks up colour. I have never experienced that with other fast drying top coats. The beauty of them is that you can apply them on almost wet polish and allow the product to dry, so I was disappointed to see this one slightly smudge and pick up colour. Not on the the main issue I've experienced with RapiDry: the bubbles! Yup, it dries with little air bubbles, a lot of little air bubbles. I tried it several times and to make sure it wasn`t my application, a particular brand of polish, the way I shake it... every single time I had bubbles forming. boo! The shine is moderate, nowhere near as glossy and shiny as Seche Vite and the wear wasn`t phenomenal. The only advantage this product has over Seche Vite is the fact that I didn`t experience shrinking, even 3-4 days into wearing it.

Overall, this top coat did not make me happy. I would recommend Sally Hansen Insta Dri, it`s much cheaper and performs better, even tho it's not my absolute favourite.

While I'm at it, I'll tell you what I thought about the RapiDry spray.  It's my first non polish quick drying product and it worked okay. I spritzed on nails about 60 seconds after application and it did help my nails dry a bit faster than on their own, however, I don't like the delivery of the product: the spray. It goes everywhere! I still need a topcoat as this spray will not help nails be as glossy and shiny but I do use this for quick manis or when I need to layer coats and I am short on time.

L'Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow Review

These eyeshadows have gotten a lot of love in blogosphere so naturally I had to get my hands on some and see what they're all about. These eyeshadows are quite unique indeed, being a hybrid between a cream shadow and a pigment/powder. To me it looks like a pigment packed tightly in that little container, covered and pressed down with a lid. The colour payoff is as rich and opaque as you would expect a pigment to be, however much more buttery, easier to blend and with much, much less fallout.
My only issue with these shadows was picking up product from the little container. The powder is packed tightly and not much comes off onto a brush when I swipe it across, if I am more aggressive and use a stiffer brush, I have to break pieces of the product and sometimes get little chunks I need to break up after in order to apply it onto the lid.
Aside from the fact that the pigmentation is great, it wears well and I experienced no creasing, fading or fall out with these shadows. The two colours I have right now are both so rich and buttery; and are simply a pleasure to work with.
Overall these are great shadows, especially when considering the fact that they are drugstore products. I don't have Armani's Eyes To Kill Eyeshadows but a lot of girls out there that did try them seem to agree on the fact that Infaillible Eyeshadows are perfect dupes in texture and performance, with the only big difference between the two being the price tag. Just saying.

The two shadows I have right now are Iced Latte and Golden Mahogany the latter being a warm, frosty champagne colour while the former is a rich warm beautiful burgundy.

Here is a look I did recently after watching and being inspired by the latest Iron Man (for whom I have a major soft spot for) using the burgundy on the mobile lid , the champagne colour as highlighter and a golden pigment under the eye.

Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream Review

Earlier this year, Revlon decided to join in on the craze and release their own BB Cream. I got mine a while ago at the event they had in Montreal, this past December. The reason I am reviewing this only now is because the shade was a tad darker for my winter ghost-like complexion, and I didn't find the product to work well for me at the time.... read on.

There are two categories in make-up for me: summer make-up and winter make-up. I try my best to be unbiased and review products as accurately as possible, but sometimes it's hard to asses how good or bad a product performs depending on the season. I'm not talking just color, I'm talking everything.
In the summer I always migrate towards lighter textures and coverage for my face make-up. I need them to be more resistant , I need SPF and a more natural finish.

I waited to test and wear this product now before assessing it and I am glad I did.

Like most Western BB Creams, Revlon PhotoReady BB Cream has light texture offering more coverage than your average tinted moisturizer, but less than a foundation. It's very hydrating and creamy and I prefer working it into my skin with my fingers rather then applying it with a brush. It won't cover major skin imperfections  it rather "blurrs" them and it has a nice dewy finish without feeling tacky or looking greasy. If you do have blemishes or areas that need more coverage  use a concealer underneath and make sure you follow with a powder if you tend to get oily through the day; this will prevent the product from breaking down through the day. The product also has an SPF of 30, making it once again, suitable for summer-wear.

I like this BB Cream, it's light, easy to use and natural looking. I mean, I actually tricked people into thinking I'm wearing no make-up with this stuff. Shhh!
