Kat Von D Lock-It Tattoo Foundation Review and Swatches

I was in need of a new foundation… as I wasn’t happy with any of the ten I currently have in my stash. I wanted coverage, something that lasted well and looked nice. Pretty reasonable right?

Ta-daaaaa! Enter Kat Von D Lock in tattoo foundation.

This is a gorgeous foundation that offers medium to full coverage. The consistency is liquid, on the thick side, almost creamy and it applies and blends with ease. It goes on very smooth, while covering every little imperfection yet managing to look very natural. It has a glowy finish, not shimmery, not matte, not flat. It`s weird to see a foundation with this degree of coverage look so dewy and see it grip so well onto the skin. I can compare its coverage power to Vichy`s Dermablend, minus that matte powdery finish. I love how well this foundation sits, it doesn`t emphasize flakiness, dry areas or pores; it doesn’t crease or sit into lines. It lasts really well during the day, although I do need to blot my T-zone. By the 6 hour mark I can see small patches and the foundation kinda breaks apart in my oily areas. Minimal stuff but still.  Seriously, my forehead should be listed as a natural oil reserve of Canada. ugh!
Another thing I need to mention is the excellent (and cute) packaging. The pump is excellent at dispersing the product and I am able to control how much of it I actually need as I go. Very hygienic and very practical.

Overall this is a wonderful foundation. I am really, really happy with it. It feels really good on the skin, it applies very well and looks amazing.  I would have never expected Kat Von D`s line to have such great products.

And here is what it looks like in action. For reference my shade is L48, MAC NC20, MUFE HD 117.
