My Top 10 Beauty Products of 2012

2012 was an interesting year from many aspects, but make-up wise it was nothing but fun and excitement. So, here are my favourite products of the year we just left behind, products I was most impressed with, products I truly treasure and reached for over and over again.

1.    Annabelle BB Cream
Out of all the BB creams I've tried until now, this one seems worthy of it's title. It provides coverage without being heavy or cakey being light and easy to apply. It works very well with my combination skin, hydrating dry patches and controlling shine heroically in my T-zone. The finish is satiny and luminous and it looks unbelievably natural. Annabelle blew me out of the water this year with their new launches, and this product in particular really stole my heart.

2.   It Cosmetics Concealer
This is my HG concealer. It is absolutely wonderful. It's rich and creamy, very pigmented providing great coverage but unlike my other heavy duty concealers it never creases or looks cakey. It adheres to skin so well and brightens my under eye area while camouflaging my dark under eye circles.

3.    Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
The most amazing lip balm ever. It's so rich and moisturizes my lips better than any other product out there. I've used it during the scorching summer days, bike rides, at the pool, during winter, cold, wind... and my lips have never chapped or felt dry.

4.    Sally Hansen Pacific Blue
This is the most amazing nail polish I have discovered in the past year. Let alone the fact that this is a drugstore product, everything is perfect when it comes to this polish, from texture, to wear, to finish to that stunning colour.

5.    Benefit Hello Flawless!
A buttery soft powder that looks natural, feels light and covers well. It has a satiny finish and I love using it to set my make-up.

6.    Weleda Calendula Cream
This is a very rich cream that soothes dry skin, attenuates irritation, hydrates and protects my skin all year round. I use it as a moisturizer in the winter and it wears surprisingly well under makeup. The Calendula is renowned for its skin repairing properties and all the good oils in it work to infuse the skin with moisture and protect it from the harshest elements.

7.  OCC Lip Tars
I tried to pick just one lip tar out of my stash as my favourite but couldn't. I've worn all colours all year round alone or in various combinations. I love custom making my own shade or just wearing each one as is. The pigmentation is phenomenal, I like the liquid texture and versatility of way ways to wear them: full on lipstick, stain, mixed with a gloss, etc.

8.  Naked Palette
I fell it's a cliché to mention the famous Naked Palette as a favourite, but it is the product I would most definitely grab out of my stash if it were to have my house on fire. It's great quality for value, the eyeshadows are all above par and it's so versatile. I've used this year round and I am still head over heels with it.

9. Mac Lovelorn
This was my favourite and most used lipstick of the year. It's an easy pink to wear, it looks girly and pretty but not too over the top. The formula is very creamy and feels very moisturizing on the lips, It's opaque and rich in pigment, one swipe and you're good to go, and lasts fairly well on the lips.

10.  L'oreal Professionnel Absolut Repair Line
I found my HG hair line, and I am especially happy with the mask. The line was and still is a Godsend gift for damaged hair. I have reviewed them here in detail. In general L'Oreal Professionnel has fantastic hair care products.

Well, there you have it. My most notable products of 2012. I am excited to see what this year brings.
