Maybelline Volum Express Falsies Big Eyes Review

This mascara was such a pleasant surprise from Maybelline. Given my past disappointments with the newer mascaras from the brand, I was somewhat skeptical when I set to try out the newest addition to their extensive line of mascaras.

I'll start off by saying that I liked the original Falsies. The main difference between the two mascaras is the fact that the Big Eyes is not only dual ended but the main brush doesn't resemble the original in the least. The Upper brush is designed to be used on the upper lashes, giving them volume and while the tiny Micro brush is supposed to be used on the tiny lower lashes, for a "360 degrees of lash glam volume".

The Upper Brush is an interesting flat and spiral shape, as opposed to the original Flasies which has a scoop shaped brush.  The brush works great at grabbing every lash due to its shape and form. It separates and flares out the lashes and volume can be build gradually. The formula is not too wet nor too dry and coats can be built if you move fast. I actually like using the Micro brush to touch up in the inner and outer corners and grab all those rebel lashes. The Micro brush is the awesome part of this mascara. It can be a great alternative to the famous Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara.

Overall this mascara is great. I am happy to report Maybelline listened to us and ditched the nasty smell recent mascaras they put out had. It's efficient, it works well and I love the dual ended brush idea, especially that awesome handy micro brush. You won't get major, dramatic eyelashes, but it does give a natural born-with-it long and flared lash look.
