Revlon Colorburst Lacquer Balm and Matte Balm Review

When I first saw a display of these at my local drugstore I didn't think much of it. I sort of thought them to be an addition to their just bitten range, which seemed to have won over a lot of beauty bloggers already. Then I attended a Revlon event last week and I had the pleasure of having Jackie, their national makeup artist, Jackie, give me the run down on these new additions to their lip range. It was love at first swatch. Let's get into each formula and see how these bad boys won me over.
LacquerBalm
"Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm offers high shine with balm-like moisture. Infused with a Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter. A retractable chubby crayon, no sharpener required."
Imagine a lip product with insane pigmentation, stunning colors, a glossy finish, incredible long wear that actually feels great on the lips. The chubby stick is actually pretty neat when it comes to application, working with a roll up mechanism vs sharpening. The pencil keeps its form allowing for precise application/contouring with the top and easily filling color in when lied flat against the lip. I get full coverage with one swipe with the more intense colors while a nude might requires couple passes to neutralize my naturally pigmented lips.
What made me fall in love with the product is it's lasting power and incredible shiny finish. It's like a lacquer, indeed! Despite eating and drinking my lips looked impeccable for hours, experiencing minimal wear inside the lip, which is quite normal. I have never had such a glossy product last this long, let alone keep that freshly applied shine for such a long time. Mind blowing. Another huge bonus is how lightweight it is and how comfortable it feels on the lips. None of the dryness that is usually associated with long wearing lip products. To conclude Revlon managed to create the perfect lip product with Lacquer Balm. Great.pigmentation and glossy finish that last incredibly well and feel amazing on.

Mattebalm
"Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm offers velvety color with balm-like moisture. Infused with a Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter. This retractable chubby crayon requires no sharpener."
Packaged in the same pencil/chubby stick form this line has a lovely matte finish and has a great color selection. That orange! That coral! That purple! They glide on so easily, the formula is smooth and creamy and sets to a matter finish. The.pigmentation on these is just.as great as the Lacquer Balms, one pass is enough.to cover my natural lip pigmentation and they last incredibly well on. Compared to other matte finish lippies, these balms are way more forgiving due to their smooth formula, not emphasizing every single flaw, not settling into every line and looking dry as hell. Unlike other similar finish products they feel comfortable once on and don't suck the moisture out of your lips leaving them parched and dry. They look good and feel good once they're on and that's a first for matte products, for me at least.
Overall, I am really really impressed with both products. I mean, I can't bring myself to wear anything else on my lips eve since I've gotten them. That says it all.
