New from mark. SPRING 2014 Blooming Pretty Highlighter and Color Swing Eye Compact

Avon's little sister, mark. took me by surprise. I have never had the chance to try anything from the brand until last year and I have to say... they continue to impress me with cute collections and surprisingly awesome products.

Today I just wanted to share with you sneak peek at the new stuff mark. has in store for us this spring, along with some first impression-type review.

mark. Color Swing Mix It Up Eye Palette
This is such a cool palette. It's dual sided, 3 colorful shadows on one side and another 3 neutral ones on the other. It's a neat little thing, the I kinda like how the two sides flip but the packaging is indeed bulky and I am afraid one day I'll break a nail trying to flip the pans. The polishes come with cute flower imprints. Plus points.

The colorful side of the palette has a lightly golden yellow, a pastel blue and a vibrant blue. Pigmentation is meh, for the pastels but the last blue does show up quite vibrant. Both blue shades are incredibly buttery and smooth with the yellow a bit more stiff (still soft!) due to the shimmer in it.
*flipping palette*
The neutral side has a champagne shadow, a brownish taupe and a darker, deeper brown. The lighter shade is so soft it's almost creamy. It has a lovely sheen to it. The middle shade is a warm taupe, with a lovely silky texture and good pigmentation while the last shade of the bunch translates as a soft brown once swatched. It's smooth but slightly chalky.

Overall a nice palette. The shadows are super soft and buttery but that can be a disadvantage to the heavy handed gals out there, as they can start looking chalky if over applied. The packaging, while ingenious is bulky.

mark. Blooming Pretty highlighting Face Powder

First things first. This palette is too cute for words.  Just look at it.

The yellow 'background" got me all excited thinking that it'll make a a lovely golden highlight for that tan I'll soon get once the sun decides to make an appearance. Unfortunately it's stiff and chalky. I would have loved to swatch it but it doesn't really show up on my skin; it ads a very subtle golden sheen but it's not the best formula for a highlighter, it doesn't catch the light the way I want it to. The best way to use this is to swirl your brush in the product and dust over the high points of your face and/or your cheeks. It's very powdery but most of it kinda flies around. The amount of product you end up on your face is minimal... but that's good, it adds the most subtle hint of colour without getting cakey and looking obvious. It's a very subtle rosey highlighter. It kind of brightens the skin but it's almost undetectable to the eye. Lasting power is mediocre.
