Avon SuperShock Brights Mascaras Swatches and Review

Just in time for summer, Avon has released a limited edition collection of mascaras that stopped me in my tracks. SuperShock Brights Mascaras come in three amazing shades: a vibrant blue, a green and a purple/violet.

I've been fantasizing about bright mascaras and bright eyeliners all winter long and as soon as the warm weather sneaked up on me I've been circling around beauty counters like a shark trying to fine a perfect blue mascara to go with my whole blue eyeliner obsession theme.

The formula of all the mascaras is creamy and light. It takes quite a few coats to get the color to really pop and show up on the lashes, I find three is the magic number when it comes to layering the mascara and getting a noticeable color and build up lashes. The formula is very creamy and it layers beautifully without clumping and it tends to retain that soft supple finish through the day. It reminds me of Physicians Formula Organic Wear in how the formula feels and behaves. The wand is relatively big and never picks up too much product which again, helps when it comes to layering and building up those coats.

Let's talk about the colors, the most exciting part of these products. Emerald Shock is a darkened green, it's very noticeable without being flashy, three coats will build up the lashes nicely. Violet Shock is a darkened purple. Like the green one, three coats will get you flared out lashes and a get the color to show up. Royal Shock is by far my favourite of the bunch. I can't even tell you how many compliments I've gotten when wearing it. It's a bright blue that simply pops. Given that the formula is so buildable I layer 3-4 coats to get crazy volume and make sure the entire world gets to see my crazy vibrant blue lashes.

Overall, I am really impressed with these mascaras and I am completely in love with Royal Shock. The formula is quite nice and the colors are amazing. I am planning to test them with a white mascara underneath and get the colors to show up even more.
