Essence Bloom Me Up! Collection

Essence is one of my favourite drugstore brands and the latest collection to have hit up the shelves is Bloom Me Up!
I have the three eyeshadows and the highlighter in the collection and played with them for the past weeks.

The highlighter in the collection has a beautiful flower lace imprint that has faded away within the first uses. The powder is extremely finely milled, it's smooth and despite having that buttery texture it doesn't feel powdery or look chalky once applied on. It has a soft light finish and makes for a great muted highlighter.

The eyeshadows come in three shades : a soft pink, a mint green and a classic ivory. All the shadows have a flower imprint; the texture is soft and buttery and the shadows come off as very light and sheer. Try to build up color and you'll end up with a chalky mess. I like to use these shadows for a subtle eye look, as blending colors, to highlight or for a sheer wash of color; they blend well and look good as long as you don't go overboard with application.

Overall, this is not their best collection ever, as I am not blown away by the eyeshadows but I do like their highlighter. Actually some of the best and most reached for highlighters in my collection are from Essence and I always make a point in picking each new one up. They are definitely worth a try.
