Revlon has recently launched their new ColorStay Gel Envy
Longwear Nail Enamel and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a few shades and
the top coat to test out. It is no secret that Revlon has always done awesome
nail polishes but when I heard that they recently acquired CND and then
released this new line, I was very interested to see how the new formula
compares to the old one. I have no idea if CND had anything to do with the new
formula but so far every single polish I tried from the line floored me.

When I saw the line up of the shades I had one of those
moments when everything else around me blurrs, voices and noises faded and that
bright bottle of yellow polishes just stood there, calling my name. I have been
on the hunt for a decent yellow polish for YEARS and I had no idea that rainy
spring evening my search was about to come to an end.
Meet Neon Lights, the most vibrant cream yellow one can ask
for. The formula is lovely. Not too thin, nor too thick with great pigmentation.
I got a fully saturated opaque coat in one pass. Once again, this is a yellow
polish, and as any beauty fanatic is able to tell you they are notorious for being
watery and sheer. I applied two coats for good measure and the result was
fantastic. Perfectly covered nails, with no streaks or funny patches. I just grinned
there for a few minutes.
I then decided to test the Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat and
see how it holds up against my Seche Vite, which has been my go to top coat
since for years, also a product I have a love hate relationship with due to the
heavy chemicals it contains, shrinking on the nail and in the bottle and huge
waste of money I get when I have to toss half full bottles with gloopy dried
out product.
I applied the Gel Envy Diamond Top coat on one hand and
used Seche Vite on the other. The biggest downside is that unlike Seche, the
Revlon top coat has to be applied on dry nails. I allowed the polish to settle
for about 20 minutes.
A few days into the mani, my Seche hand shows significant
signs of shrinkage and tip wear. I got a few bubbles here and there but nothing
major. My Nail Envy hand has no shrinkage, less shine and little bubbles popped
up everywhere. Nothing crazy but if I look closely I can definitely see them. I
have no chipping whatsoever. Nothing! I biked, worked out, did laundry, dishes
and typing. No tip wear. Aside from the pesky bubbles which I have experienced when
I layered this top coat on top of other polishes I am seriously impressed. I
just wish it bubbled less.
