Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks Review and Swatches

I can't believe I'm saying this but Revlon has added yet range of lipsticks to their already extensive line. meet the new Ultra HD Lipstick. The lipstick launch coincided with their new rebranding you've probably already seen in campaigns, social media, new ads and displays in stores. Personally, I am digging the new look and direction the brand is taking; it's fun, it's edgy, very feminine and sexy. Their new motto is "LOVE IS ON" and well... it pretty much says it all.

Ok, back to the lipsticks. The packaging is simple and sleek. They kinda look like the Lip Butters, only the base of the bullet is metallic and the cap is a clear plastic instead of colored. I actually find the packaging to remind me of the Clarins Rouge Eclats, it just looks silverish instead of golden.

The formula is once again reminiscent of the lip butters in creaminess and feel. They are different when it comes to application, color payoff and they way they feel and wear once applied on the lips. The formula is very soft, it slides effortlessly across the lip with no drag, Pigmentation varies from shade to shade and it ranges between medium opacity to full on pigment. The wear can vary from color to color but overall it performs well; it's very comfortable to wear, very light and supple on the lips, with a medium wear time that can be anywhere between 2-5 hours depending on how much I drink and snack during that time. Seriously, on those days with a 2 hour workout routine in the morning, no lipstick can survive on my lips as I drink or eat constantly. It's worth mentioning they all have a sweet smell but it doesn't seem to linger or bother me once applied.

Overall these are great lipsticks. The formula is spot on, the pigmentation is great, it feels really nice on the lips and wears beautifully. The lipstick lives up to it's name in the sense that it marries the concept of a full on lipstick with that high definition trend, it looks light and natural, it reflects just the right amount of light. It's weird in the sense that it's a lipstick but somehow it just makes your lips look better. I wore Gladioulus yesterday and all I kept thinking was how my lips felt and looked like rose petals.
