Fashion Beauty Panel: Step Out of Your Comfort Zone

This week the Fashion Beauty Panel challenge was stepping out of your comfort zone when it comes to makeup. See it here.

This year I’m planning to step out my comfort zone by trying to use more natural cosmetics. I’ve always been somewhat reluctant about trying green products due to the fear that they might not perform as well as traditional cosmetics and have limited colour selection and products.
Today I managed to use almost all natural make-up to create a bold look. I’m slowly discovering more natural brands that put out exceptional products that are, dare I say, just as good or even better than conventional cosmetics. That’s right, I won’t have to sacrifice performance and quality while going green.

On my face today I am wearing what I consider to be the best powder foundation, a holy grail for me: Zuzu's Dual Powder Foundation; I contoured with their bronzer and finished of with a healthy dose on Zuii Blush in Peach. The eyes are almost all Boho Cosmetics: a soft wash of Sable eye-shadow finished off with their black liquid liner and mascara. I accentuated the crease with a taupe shade from Gabriel Cosmetics. The focus of the look are the blood red lips for which I used the Boho Lipstick in Red Carpet, a matte intense red lipstick that I am kind of obsessed with at the moment.

There! I did it. I managed to create an all natural look with natural make-up and it looks surprisingly good, something I would have never thought I could do a few years back.

Products used: Zuzu’s Dual Powder Foundation, Zuzu bronzer, Zuii Blush in Peach, Boho Cosmetics Sable eye-shadow, liquid liner and mascara, Gabriel Cosmetics taupe shadow, Boho Lipstick in Red Carpet.
