Earlier this month I received what was probably one of the best packages I ever got as a blogger. Ladies meet the Bronzer Wardrobe by Too Faced. I am still not sure how can you get this, I believe it was a very Limited Edition but I did find a mini size for you here.
This gorgeous looking pink box includes the entire collection of Too Faced bronzers, all 8 of them. I know... I know. Oh, they also included their
Retractable Kabuki Brush, which saved my life while travelling.
Let's get started shall we?
This bronzer has a smooth matte finish, the texture is on the dry side with medium pigmentation that takes a bit of effort to pick it up from the pan and get it to show on the skin, which is great for those of us that are heavy handed. It's easy to blend, very long wearing and has a cool tone to it that makes it perfect for contouring. Potential new HG for me.
This bronzer has a smooth formula and great pigmentation. The color is pretty light and has a pretty neutral tone to it with a hint of warmth, great for pale skins. Smells like chocolate.
This bronzer also has that same great formula that's easy to pick up and blend as it's so finely milled. It's deeper than the Milk Chocolate and has a neutral tone to it. Smells like chocolate.
This is a deep tan matte bronzer with the same smooth formula as the two above. Warm tone with hints of orange. Also smells like chocolate.
This bronzer has two shades, both having a soft formula that has a soft slip to it and blends well; a subtle pearly finish with slight pink undertones that are meant to mimic the natural flush of the skin. The left color is a dark highlighter while the second is a shimmery bronzer.
Swatches L-R
Endless Summer, Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Soleil and Sun Bunny (both shades swatched)
This bronzer has four shades, the far left is a nice bronze with red undertones and a hint of shimmer, second one is a light shimmery peach, the third one has golden undertones with shimmer and the forth one is bronze shade with orange undertones; all color mixed together swatch as a hybrid between a bronzer and a highlight with peachy undertones and strong shimmer.
Swatches (L-R)
each shade swatched individually, last shade all swirled together
This is also a mix of four colors. On the far left we have a a shimmery highlighter with a pearl finish to it, next we have a shimmery brown with coppery undertones, next we have a light shimmery pink and the last one is a pink iridescent shimmer with gold reflects. Mixed together this is a pink/peachy highlighter, that second coppery shade adding more depth to it.
Swatches (L-R)
each shade swatched individually, last shade all swirled together
This bronzer has a gorgeous design to it that features three colors: a pink, a soft brown and a darker brown, all in a leopard pattern. It's hard to pick up the colors individually, so I just swirled a brush in them for an overall swatch. The finish is shimmery, I would describe it as a shimmery darker highlighter with cool undertones. I would use this to top off a bronzer and I would have to be very light handed given that I am pale and it would look muddy if I went overboard with it.
Retractable Kabuki Brush
This is a thick, incredibly soft brush. The bristles are nicely packed managing to have just enough give to buff product in. What impressed me the most about this brush is how soft and nice the bristles feel and how sturdy and well made the handle is. I also like how compact it is, making it great for travelling; I actually made great use of this tool while away on vacation, it does at great job at applying powder products and it buffs them in beautifully. I like to play with the height of the brush to get more control over the density and shape of the bristles, bring it down a notch and you have a denser blush brush, flare it all out for a more fanned out powder brush, squeeze the hair between your fingers and you have an angled contour brush etc. Overall, really nice, sturdy, well made tool.
I want to have a favourite but I just can't, each bronzer is unique and serves a different purpose and I could see myself using them all in various circumstances. Which one catches your eye?
