Fable Naturals Skincare Review

Fable Naturals products are all made lovingly by hand in Vancouver, BC using healthy, organic ingredients such as fair trade olive oil, cocoa butter and cane sugar, and are distributed across the country. In fact, the entire line is fair trade certified through Fairtrade Canada.I got the chance to test out three products from the line and I wanted to share my thoughts on them with you.

Quinoa + Almond Fresh Skin Exfoliator
This exfoliant is made with fair trade quinoa and rice, organic almonds and oats and green clay. The powder comes packaged in a cute glass jar and you have to mix it with water to create a paste prior to applying it to your face. A little goes a long  a way so start with a dime size. I like to really wet my skin, rub the paste in between my palms and them press it into the skin in circular motions. The stuff smells incredible. The first time I used it I had one of those transcendental moments; all the essential oils in it come to life while you massage it in and have this deeply relaxing effect. The powder does a great job at buffing the skin and removing impurities while leaving it hydrated and supple. The clay lifts the nasty stuff while the almond soothes and hydrates. I found this exfoliator reminded me of the Dr Hauschka Cleansing Cream but better, for my combination skin, at least.
Using this exfoliator is the ultimate "at-home-spa" experience for me. Every time I use it those essential oils give me a lift and make me happy, it's incredible how amazing they make me feel. The first time I tried this stuff I was so impressed with it I ran out of the bathroom and gave my boyfriend an impromptu facial with it because I just had to share the magic. He still raves about it. The powder does a fantastic job at deeply cleansing the skin and rehydrating it and it left me simply glowing.

The other product I didn't expect to fall in love with is their Nourishing Olive+ Rosehip Facial Oil. I didn't expect to fall in love with it because I consider myself to be a an oil connoisseur, I have every oil in my collection and use them regularly so it takes a lot to blow my mind when it comes to this stuff. That being said, I was happy to see rosehip is part of this mix because I love rosehip oil, it's a Romanian thing. How could you not love the stuff when it packed with antioxidants and essential fatty acids and has a ton Vitamin C; I like to call it nature's Retinol serum.
The Facial Oil comes in a cute glass bottle  with a dropper. Nothing unusual... until you open it. Once again, the essential oils are spot on and will transport you to the land of fantasy spa, as I like to call it. The olive notes are subtle  and marry beautifully with the rosehip, citrus essential oils and lavender. The texture is perfect, not too hydrating nor too light. I like to apply the oil to my damp skin and work it in for a minute. The oil is hydrating and absorbs quickly and doesn't sit on top of the skin. The combination is jojoba, roseship, argan, apricot olive and shea is spot on making this oil and exquisite elixir that leaves my skin glowing. I guess in the case of this oil the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

I also got to test out their Lemon+Lavender Body Balm and while it smells lovely I can't say it impressed me simply because I have at least 5 other similar products in my rotation right now. It's a very handy thing to have for chapped lips, dry cuticles, elbows and heels and I like to carry it with me everywhere I go, the lavender in it is very soothing.

The products were sent to me as a PR sample but my review is 100% honest. I work with a lot of natural companies and I am always trying out the newest stuff in the industry but sometimes, certain items amaze me with their simplicity and effectiveness and this was the case with Fable Naturals.
