This past weekend the boyfriend and I decided to escape the city and we headed down towards the Eastern Townships for some quite time in nature. I had just finished the Lole White Event ,which was absolutely incredible, this is my second year attending and it keeps getting better and better. So after that great experience of practicing yoga with a few other thousands of people under the sun all dressed in white in the name of peace I was ready for some quiet time in nature.
We camped in a lovely little camp site of sorts, we had a fire, swam in the lake, tanned on the deck, had a picnic, visited a lavender farm, fed ducks, shopped for local produce, battled a skunk and helped our tent neighbors with a medical emergency in the middle of the night, you know, the usual stuff... it's amazing what a few days in nature can do for your energy and mood. The Eastern Townships are absolutely lovely and I love discovering little farms and merchants in the area, on our drive we sort of stumbled upon a small lavender farm, Joie de Lavande , a family business in the heart of Knowlton where you can walk the fields, visit their small boutique and get your lavender fix. I got some local lavender honey and learned all about the little farm, which has recently become a popular wedding destination for many couples. How brilliant is that? Getting married in a field of lavenders in the country...
We spent the second day wandering around the charming town of Magog, brunched, shopped for more local goodies (the Metro in Magog has an insane local selection!) and chilled by the lake until late evening when we decided to head back to Montreal.
