Burberry Fall 2015 Lip Launches: Review and Swatches

I believe I am not the only one to get ridiculously excited for fall just because I get to wear lipstick again. I mean, vampy, rich, dark colors. I have been bombarded these past weeks with lip products left and right but Burberry managed to stop me in my tracks. I am a sucker for packaging and Burberry sure knows how to get my heart fluttering whenever I hold one of their products in my hands.

Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick
The lipsticks come in square shaped bullets engraved with the iconic Burberry pattern, same pattern you'l find etched into the lipstick itself. The formula on these lipsticks is buttery and soft gliding effortlessly across the lips and leaving behind a rich, opaque swatch. The name does a great job at describing the finish which is indeed velvet, a velvety matte finish that feels very comfortable on the lips and wears pretty well through the day. As I kept checking on it as the day wore on I kept thinking to myself how far we've come with the beauty technology. Here we have a perfectly matte lipstick that feel great on the lips and is so easy to wear, I remember now that long ago how real my struggle was trying to apply Ruby Woo and how I dreaded wearing it because it ruined my lips for days. This formula feels like nothing on the lips and it's perfectly matte without falling flat. The red shade is absolutely breathtaking as you'll see in the swatches and I can see it becoming that staple red I go to when I need to feel glammed up.
The two colors I have are Poppy Red and Honeysuckle.

Burberry Kisses Gloss is a collection of 28 shades inspired by the delicate Burberry fabrics and reflective mirror and patent finishes seen in Burberry collections.
The packaging features that familiar see through lipstick shape that a few brands have been putting out these past years. You can clearly see the color of the gloss through and the cap has the same metallic mirror finish with the Burberry pattern engraved on it and it has a lovely weight to it that gives it that high-end feel.
The formula is very emollient and hydrating and it packs a good punch of color for a gloss. You can definitely layer it on for more color payoff, use it to top off a lipstick or just use it on its own for a subtle effect. The shade I have is Oxblood.

The Burberry First Kiss Glossy Balm is a surprisingly amazing lip gloss. Everything impressed me, from the packaging and the cool looking applicator to the formula and color. The lip balm does feel very moisturizing and light on the lips. The formula is not very pigmented and it has just the right amount of color that you'd expect from a balm. I didn't find this balm to feel sticky or tacky, I found it to last on my lips for about 2 hours and does a great job at hydrating them. The shade I have is Rose Blush.
