Contouring is not going anywhere and brands continue to roll out phenomenal products that promise us chiseled cheekbones.
The newest contour palette that landed on my make-up vanity is the new Estee Lauder New Dimension Shape + Sculpt Kit. The two cream products are housed in a super sleek compact that proved very hard to photograph due to the reflection, but you don't need to know that. The packaging is sleek and futuristic as hell and I am really digging it. The two contour products are both cream based which scared me; I still have this phobia of and preconceived idea that I can't work with cream products but that's starting to change.
The formula is stiff, moderately pigmented and extremely blendable. The tan color is a perfect neutral shade that looks like actual shading when applied to the skin. I like to use my RT Contouring Brush to pick up and deposit color and blend it out. I was pretty amazed at how natural the end result was and how it easy it was to blend the formula out. I have been playing around with this kit for a few weeks now and dare I say, I prefer cream contouring products to powder ones. I find application is fool proof, with this product in particular is almost impossible to get it to look patchy or muddy, it's pigmented enough that you can build the color gradually in order to add more depth and intensity but it's just as easy to keep it light and natural looking. The lighter color has great yellow undertones to it that can be used to bring out certain features and highlight specific areas of the face. I also like to use this shade to clean up edges around my contour, to help create sharper lines and blurr out small imperfections.
All in all, this contouring kit is pretty awesome. The formula is spot on and so are the colors. I think I have conquered my fear of cream products and I can't stop reaching it out for this product every day, sculpting my face has never this easy. I highly recommend you check it out.
