It's that time of the year again when the combination of cold weather and dry indoor heat makes me go on a hunt for anything that has the word "moisture" or "hydration" in its description so it's no wonder that I am trading in my vampy lipsticks for moisturizing balms.
You are probably already familiar with Clarins' Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector which is cult favourite by now. As a fan of the glosses I was intrigued when I saw Clarins came out with a balm version, Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector which I have in two colors: 03 My Pink and 02 Coral.
The balms are both incredibly hydrating while offering medium pigmentation. Actually, I found the 02 Coral shade to have more of a true color payoff than the 03 My Pink shade which reminded me of the Dior Addict Lip Glow but better. My Pink will somehow self adjust to your lips turning into a unique shade of rosy pink each time you apply it. It's so fun to wear it and see it change, the color on me went on as a soft pink in the morning and turned my lips much rosier at night after a glass of wine. The balms have the same sweet smell the glosses have making them a delight to apply and wear.
The formula is superb on these balms. It manages to hydrate and plump up the lips and give them just a touch of color and a kissable glossiness that brightens up any look. These balms are not only easy to wear but they do a great job at hydrating and protecting the lips.
