New Products from Annabelle and Marcelle, Spring 2013

I am so excited for the new collections launching this spring from Annabelle and Marcelle.
I am dying to get my hands of the CC Cream from Annabelle. If you read my blog, you know by now I have a sort of an obsession with BB creams and all the new beauty trends that come from Asia. I loved what Annabelle did with the BB Cream concept and theirs happened to be my favourite from the multitude I tried, Asian and Western alike. I have never tried a CC Cream but I am curious to see what they are all about, starting with this one. :)
I am equally excited by the new mascaras, both companies have impressed me in that department in the past ( Oh, BigShow!) and these new additions seem fun!

It looks like these two companies are on a roll, determined to bring us the coolest trends this spring.

Essence Long Lasting Eye Pencils Review and Swatches in Tu-tu-tourquoise and Coolest Chick

I have been hearing about Essence and their cosmetics for years now, all my friends in Europe are fans and use them all the time. You can imagine my excitement when I stumbled onto the brand into my local Pharmaprix (or Shopper's Drug Mart for those living in regular Canada :).
I was super impressed with the range, the products and holy Moses are they cheap or what?
I snatched up these two eyeliners for about 2 bucks a pop.

Coolest Chick (purple) and Tu-tu-tourquoise (blue).

I love the colors. Good God is that blue eyeliner gorgeous! Pigmentation is great; rich vibrant colors, great payoff, soft and smooth. It stays on incredibly well, no smudging, no budging.
I am seriously impressed with these eyeliners. Dare I say, they performed and looked better than some of my high-end eyeliners.
I'm gonna let the swatches speak for themselves. After, I'm going back to the drugstore... I want every color.

Les Produits Genevieve: Decadent, Natural Bath and Body Products from Montreal

Les Produits Genevieve is a Montreal based Bath and Body Product Company, whose products are handcrafted using natural ingredients and essential oils. Local, natural beauty products? Right up my alley!
I got to try a few products and here's what I thought of them.

Tea Tree and Spearmint Foot Paste Lotion

I absolutely loved this foot paste. It's creamy, rich and smells divine. I was never fond of foot creams as I found most to be sticky and slippery. They would leave this yucky annoying residue on my toes and I would feel greasy all the time. I put this lotion on my feet, slip on some socks and by the time I wake up in the morning my feet are incredibly soft, the cream penetrates really well into the skin and leaves no yucky residue behind. I love the fresh peppermint smell.

Lemon Meringue Lotion
This body lotion is rich and smells like lemon custard. It feels really luxurious and hearty and moisturizes exceptionally well. Due to its hydrating properties, I like to use it in really dry areas, such as my legs, knees and elbows. I am not a lotion kinda gal, but I really enjoy how supple my skin feel after I apply this lotion. It also has become a new favorite after an intense session of exfoliation, my God it feels amazing to slather it on, from head to toe. Aaaah! It doesn`t feel sticky and I am at ease with the fact that it`s natural. While I am not 100% natural in make-up, I am very particular about what comes in direct contact with my skin. I need all my skincare products to be clean, in order to feel comfortable with them.

Lip Balm
As much as I have loved the products, the lipbalm disappointed me. The packaging is bizarre, the sticker covered the little roller and I had to cut it in order to be able to roll the product up. The texture was gritty and I didn`t find it to be moisturizing. I am quite picky about my lip balms and I didn`t find this one to be up to my expectations.

Overall, Les Produits Genevieve impressed me. The foot cream and body lotion were truly beautiful products. They perform, feel good, look good, smell good and I feel more than comfortable with their ingredient list. Ah I wish they made that Lemon Meringue Lotion in a gallon packaging. I have a feeling it's gonna be my new best friend this winter.
Go check them out here.

Logona Lipstick Review in No 06 and Logona Giveaway

Logona is clean, natural line of make-up and over the past couple of months I got to try out and play with some of their products, one of them being their lipsticks.

                                                                 No 06 Swatched

The formula of this lipstick was... interesting. Application wasn't a breeze, let me tell you that. It took a bit of work applying the product, getting it to slide across the lip and filling it in. For some reason, as moisturizing as it felt, it is quite hard to distribute the product evenly. Once you work it, and the formula manages to warm up a little bit, the lipstick slides across the lips with ease. The colour feels quite comfortable (a bit on the dry side) on the lips and the colour payoff is decent. No, these are not fancy fashion colours, but for those of you who are looking for an alternative to conventional cosmetics these products can be interesting.
Personally, I am not appealed to their colours, as they seem more um, "traditional" and the formula is not my favourite. However, it looked good and shiny on the lips.

Since I have received 3 colours, I am putting the two I didn't swatch up for grabs. Give someone else a chance to try them and see how they like them. I am also adding two eye pencils (grey and turquoise) and a lip-pencil (sort of a creamy lipstick in pencil form).

I had only opened the products for picture purposes.
